Continuous Shower Therapy

Duration Shower Therapy

The "Duration Shower Therapy," also known as the "Vichy Shower," is a form of hydrotherapy that has been practiced in naturopathic centers for decades. During this therapy, the reclining patient is intensively sprayed from above with multiple showerheads, while the showerheads move, varying the intensity, water temperature, and shower character. This application is intended to invigorate the circulation of the skin and stimulate the autonomic nervous system, particularly the vagus nerve. It can help with various health issues, including sleep disorders, liver, and digestive problems, hypertension, mild heart issues, autonomic dystonia, headaches, migraines, back and soft tissue problems, as well as specific skin conditions after consultation with a doctor. It can also aid in detoxifying the skin from heavy metals and other toxic substances.

Safety and Effectiveness

However, it is essential to note that there are certain situations where the use of Duration Shower Therapy is "forbidden" or contraindicated. These include heart failure, hypertension (high blood pressure) with values above 200 mmHg systolic or 120 mmHg diastolic, history of strokes, psychoses, and being over 75 years of age.

To ensure the safety and effectiveness of the Duration Shower Therapy, it is advisable to undergo a thorough medical examination before the application and consult a qualified specialist who can adjust the therapy according to individual needs and health conditions.

Resting Phase after Application After the Duration Shower Therapy, it is recommended to rest for approximately 30 to 60 minutes. During this time, the body can relax wonderfully. It is also recommended to drink still water after this therapy.

How does the Vichy-Continuous-Shower Therapy work?

The "continuous shower," often also called a "Vichy shower," is a form of hydrotherapy that has been used in naturopathic centers for decades. It involves a closed shower system where the reclining patient is intensely sprayed from above with multiple shower heads for 15 to 30 minutes. During this time, the shower heads move and vary in intensity, water temperature, and spray type. The relatively intense water spray has a very strong stimulating effect on skin circulation. Additionally, through fine skin reflexes, it also stimulates the autonomic nervous system, which can have a profound internal impact. The continuous shower initially has a relaxing effect but has a stimulating effect over the long term. Generally, this therapy is considered very pleasant. The continuous shower can be used multiple times a week.
